Thanks to Slick Wax, a chain clogged with oil is a thing of the past. Simply apply the wax to a clean, dry chain, and you'll only need to degrease your drivetrain occasionally. Reapply Slick Wax as needed, and any dirt or excess wax is easily removed with a cloth or brush.

First application

Are you still using a conventional oil-based lubricant? Then be sure to thoroughly degrease all parts of your drivetrain before applying Slick Wax. This will help the wax adhere better to your chain in the future, making your chain cleaner, quieter, and faster. Remove excess wax with a brush or cloth as needed.

Now apply a drop of Slick Wax to the top and bottom of each chain link and let it dry for 3 hours. Repeat the process and apply another coat of Slick Wax. Let the chain wax dry for another 3 hours before trying it on your bike.

Reapplication

A chain treated with slick wax is easiest to clean with a dry cloth or brush to remove residue from your cassette or cogs. Degreasing the chain is completely unnecessary. After about 300 to 400 kilometers, you can apply a little wax to the inside and outside of your chain as needed. For optimal results, you should wait 2-3 hours before riding.
