The carbon armrest for Canyon SLX / CFR from TRI-C. With a length of 20cm, the armrest offers a large contact surface. You can choose the width yourself. We offer sizes M and L. The durable carbon is extremely safe, our padding is very comfortable. The side walls offer excellent support and the design gives a sporty impression. The armrest is offered as standard in the optical version “fine carbon”.

We are convinced that arm guards for the general public have not received the development they deserve in recent years. There have been great developments for professionals and some arm guards that are significantly better than the standard. However, to date we have not found a solution for everyone that does justice to the importance of this important contact point between athlete and bike. Just like the saddle and shoes/soles, the arm guards also have a major influence on comfort in triathlon. Comfort in turn has an immense influence on aerodynamics. The best wheels cannot save as many watts over 180 km as are lost by 5 additional minutes outside the aero position. Therefore, comfort in the arm guards is essential for high performance and a great riding experience.

Our solution for this is the TRI-C arm shell. The individual version is tailored to your exact measurements. For this we need the circumference of your forearm in two different places. You can easily measure this yourself using our instructions . In this version, the standard size Canyon arm shell, you can choose between 2 different sizes. In this case too, you have to measure your arms and use these measurements to determine your size.

geometry

The armrest is 200 mm long and therefore offers a large surface area over which your weight can be distributed. This means that there are no uncomfortable pressure points on the forearm. We have a high outer wall with a height of 55 mm. This ensures maximum stability and therefore more safety and more control when riding in an aero position. The armrest has a good fit thanks to the appropriate clothing size.

material

We make the armrests ourselves from carbon. This means they have a low weight of 1120 to 200 g per armrest without padding. Despite the low weight, the armrests are very stable.

upholstery

TRI-C is breaking new ground when it comes to padding. Instead of using simple foam with a thin polyester cover or rubber padding, we use a special combination of padding materials. Annoying problems such as excessive sweating, heat build-up, sticking, slipping and chafing are now a thing of the past.

We use perforated Alcantara as the upper material. The microfiber material is very pleasant on the skin and also very durable and abrasion-resistant. The material allows all liquids to pass through and does not stick to the skin even when it comes into contact with energy drinks. The padding is attached with a high-quality and durable Velcro fastener.

Four pads are supplied per arm shell: one for each side wall and a stronger pad for the underside. The first pad layer is a very light and breathable material that allows for optimal air circulation and fluid transport. This prevents heat build-up in warm temperatures. Only this first padding layer is used on the side walls. For better cushioning, the padding on the underside is supplemented by a denser EPDM foam. This absorbs the weight of the athlete and prevents the pad from sagging on very long rides. Even on poor roads, bumps can be cushioned and comfort guaranteed. The thickness of the padding is adjusted to your weight. This allows optimal cushioning properties to be achieved without adding unnecessary weight. The padding can be rinsed off after intensive use when cleaning the bike. We recommend a light hand wash in soapy water at regular intervals. We do not use any adhesives during processing and sew the padding. This ensures a very long service life. If you decide to order a new cushion after a few years, you can simply do so using the order number that is noted in your armrest. We have saved the measurements underneath.

screw connection

The armrests are attached to your trailer with two screws each with an extra flat and wide head. The common trailer systems have a thread for M5 or M6 screws; we will send you the necessary screws. If you damage or lose a screw during assembly, you will have a spare screw. The screws are made of high-quality A4 stainless steel, which does not rust even when in contact with electrolyte drinks.

In total we send five pieces M5 x 8mm and five pieces M6 x 8mm, each flange.

optics

We offer various optical variations for the armrests. These armrests in the standard size are the fine carbon variant, and we can also paint them black and/or matt. If you have any special optical requests, please contact us. In these pictures, the armrest is painted matt.
